OLIVE OIL TASTING
The Sabina region is very proud of the olive oil it produces and has its own internationally recognized domain (Sabina DOP). During the tasting participants learn what ‘extra virgin’ actually means, how professional judges taste olive oil, and what you need to know to make the right choices when buying olive oil – even in your local supermarket. Culinaria Sabina is proud to collaborate with internationally renowned olive oil expert Johnny Madge, who conducts the tasting session for each course.
The wine from the Sabina is not widely known and it does not rank among the great Italian wines. Nevertheless, there is plenty of good local wine to be enjoyed! The programme provides a guided tour at Tenuta Santa Lucia (link), a state-of-the-art winery. Here the participants will learn about the process of wine-making, followed by a tasting. The tour and the tasting are conducted in English.
